Starting to feel overwhelmed

Your answers suggest that you generally feel comfortable with your role as a caregiver. That's great! But that doesn’t mean it's easy.

You also told us you struggle with stress, and that caregiving has put a strain on your relationship. You're far from alone in that. Almost two-thirds of caregivers find the role moderately to highly stressful.

You said you're committed to caring for your loved one—which is wonderful. That's also a reason it's so important to find help. Lowering your burden and stress levels will help you to keep up that commitment for the long run.

Know that depression is common among caregivers, and some of your responses suggest you may be at risk. It's easy to ignore your own issues when you're focused on a loved one. Please don't. Taking care of yourself is good for you and those who need you.
